Sunday Service

Sunday is a day of rest in Mexico, and is the day off for the staff of Villa Merissa. We trust that you will use this time as an excellent opportunity to sample one of the many excellent restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, Please ask us for recommendations.

Sunday Arrival:

Should you wish to arrive at Villa Merissa on a Sunday, there will be a $150 US surcharge. This will ensure:
• Our hostess will meet and greet you and welcome you to the villa, issue keys, arrange weekly menus etc.
• Our chef and sous-chef will prepare hors d'oeuvres and dinner
• Our waiter/barman/houseman will be there to serve drinks and dinner and help with luggage.
However, it should be noted that as our staff will work on a Sunday, they would need to take a day of rest during the week.

Sunday Breakfast:

Should you wish to have breakfast served on Sunday, a special pre-arrangement can be made at an extra cost of $60 US.

Dinner is not available in the villa on Sunday evenings; however, we trust that you will use this time as an excellent opportunity to sample one of the many excellent restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, Please ask us for recommendations.

Excursions and Activities and In-House Extras

To avoid disappointment, we have found from experience, that it is far better to pre-book your excursions before your arrival in resort. It is especially difficult to secure places on Dolphin programs and Sailing excursions and during high season and holidays. We only offer excursions that have been proven to be good quality and value, with reputable agents.

Another very popular, in-house service is a traditional, Swedish massage. Our professional, licensed masseuse offers superb massages in the privacy of our private day spa terrace. This is thoroughly recommended by our past clientele! Please see list of Spa Services. Again, let our hostess know if you would like to pre-arrange these services.

Other popular in-house services include Mariachi bands, Trios, flowers and celebratory cake services.

In-House Services

Maid service is provided Monday through Saturday and includes general clean up of the villa: washing of dishes, floors and household linens. There is no in-house personal laundry service, however the staff can arrange for off-site laundry or dry cleaning services.

Towels are provided for use in our bathrooms and pool but cannot be taken out of the villa.

Villa Merissa is on city water, which is reputed to be potable, but we recommend drinking only the chilled, purified bottled water provided on each floor, in the dining room and in the pool cabana. All ice served is prepared with purified bottled water. A small convenience kitchen is available for guest use complete with microwave, toaster oven, small stove and refrigerator. This is available for reheating food and making light snacks. It is not intended for preparation of meals. Guests are not permitted, at any time, to enter or use the main chef's kitchen of Villa Merissa.

Coffee machines are available on every floor.

Communications

An in-house phone is available for incoming calls and local calls only. Long distance and international calls can only be made from the villa using an AT&T or MCI International calling card.

We offer in-house, high-speed, wireless Internet access(please bring your own wireless laptop).

If you are bringing a cellular telephone to Mexico, again, you should check with your local provider before coming to Mexico as to whether you can make arrangements for your phone to work from here!

Occupancy of Villa

Villa Merissa is designed to accommodate up to 16 people maximum (or 20 if 10 bedrooms are rented). Our in-house guest security is of maximum importance to us. Non-resident guests, service providers or pets are not permitted to enter the villa or use its facilities.

Transportation during your stay

Due to our close proximity to town we do not recommend car hire during your stay. Roads are very busy and driving erratic. It is recommendable and more economical to take taxis. A taxi from town to Villa Merissa will cost approximately $40-$50 pesos ($4-$5 US).

Security Deposit and Staff Gratuities

A refundable security deposit of $750 US is required with final payment. This deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of departure provided there is no damage or loss to the villa or its contents. Staff gratuities are not included in our tariffs.

Weddings and Special Events Villa Merissa offers a 1300 sq ft "Terraza Mirador" roof garden featuring our 360-degree views of all of Vallarta! Perfect location for weddings and special events. (This is available only by pre-arrangement for events for a supplementary fee). We do not offer an in-house wedding coordination service but are happy to give recommendations of local Wedding Planners. Please ask for our Events Policies.
